Four new additions to the nonprofit's board bring decades of experience as Compass seeks to scale its asset-building model and drive forward a new era of financial security policy.
BOSTON, Mass. — Today, Compass Working Capital, a national nonprofit working to end asset poverty for families with low incomes, celebrates the addition of four new members to its Board of Directors: Lajuanda M. Asemota, Jessica Jackson, Claudia Bell Mathis, and Natasha Hien Tu. These four individuals bring a combined track record spanning corporate strategy, enterprise technology, venture building, and social impact leadership, and will support Compass as it continues to expand its scope of impact for families nationwide.
Lajuanda M. Asemota brings more than 20 years of experience across technology, education, and social impact strategy consulting, including prior chief executive roles at Second Chance Studios and the Y Combinator-backed /dev/color, where she partnered with Netflix and Capital One to advance Black software engineering leaders in the industry. Compass looks forward to benefiting from her track record of growing mission-driven initiatives and building organizations that open doors for underrepresented communities, closely aligned with Compass’s mission to narrow the racial and gender wealth divides.
Jessica Jackson is Vice President of Technology at The Bridgespan Group, leading technology, data, and AI strategy after more than 25 years in product and technology leadership at companies including ZoomInfo, HubSpot, and EF Education First. Her experience in modernizing systems and building technology-enabled platforms will be a valuable asset as Compass continues to invest in the tools and data infrastructure that underpin its coaching model.
Claudia Bell Mathis, Ed.D, brings more than 25 years of experience in economic mobility and financial capability, including her prior role as Vice President of Social Impact at Fidelity Investments, where she led the firm's partnership with the United Negro College Fund. Her deep grounding in asset-building and financial coaching programs makes her a natural fit to help guide Compass's continued growth and strategic direction.
Natasha Hien Tu is Chief of Staff to the President and Chief Strategy Officer at Salesforce, following senior operating roles at MuleSoft — where she scaled a $2+ billion business unit — and a background in management consulting at KPMG. Compass is excited to draw on her expertise in aligning executive priorities and building operational resilience as the organization scales its own operations nationally.
“We're at a pivotal moment for Compass as we work to bring our model to more families and more communities across the country. Lajuanda, Jessica, Claudia, and Natasha each know what it takes to build something that lasts, whether that's a business, a technology platform, or a pathway out of poverty. Their guidance will be instrumental as we push for the kind of change that actually moves the needle for families seeking a pathway out of poverty.”
